Members of PACE Subcommittee to visit Georgia to observe parliamentary elections

Member of the Subcommittee, chief of Azerbaijan-Georgia Interparliamentary Friendship Group Ganira Pashayeva told APA that the observers will have meetings with chairman of Georgian Central Election Commission, experts, political analysts, organizations observing the elections on May 19. A roundtable will take place with participation of PACE observers and representatives of political parties and media on May 20.
The members of the Subcommittee are planned to have meetings with the representatives of National Democratic Institute, Transparency International, Caucasus Institute for Peace and Development, Georgia’s Strategic Research Center, Open Society Institute, a number of international and local nongovernmental organizations. PACE representatives will also have discussions with the representatives of OSCE Observation Mission and other international organizations. PACE observers will publicize their initial opinion of the elections in the press conference on May 22.
Ganira Pashayeva said she will meet with the Azerbaijani candidates, who participate in the parliamentary elections, and have discussions with our compatriots in connection with the pre-election situation.
