Persons in the Armenian government are connected to the drug cartel, and the huge drug trafficking, which reached 1 billion dollars, would not be possible without the protection of the authorities," said MP of "Hayastan" opposition bloc Andranik Tevanyan told journalists, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

Together with political scientist Artur Khachikyan, he came to the building of the National Security Service to clarify the sensational news about the import of cocaine from special service bodies.

According to the deputy, the illegal circulation of drugs in Armenia has reached about 4 tons, which means about 1 billion dollars. Tevanyan added that such huge amount cannot bypass the authorities in Armenia.
