“Armenia discussed the opportunities of leaving Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), however, there is no such issue on the agenda of Yerevan,” said Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
He said that this possibility was raised at the meeting of the Security Council in September 2022 after the clashes on the conventional border with Azerbaijan.
“However, a decision was made to not take this step and continue the work with the block on the eve of the summit to be held in Yerevan,” noted Safaryan.
According to him, the statement made by CSTO regarding the situation in the South Caucasus will be discussed in the near future.
