Bus carrying schoolchildren crashed in Bishkek and 18 people were injured

Primary school students were injured in the bus crash on the Bishkek-Manas airport road in the direction to Bishkek, APA reports citing AKIpress.

These are students in grades 1-4, who studied in the second shift, At-Bashi lyceum principal Rakhat Myrzabekova said.

“The children were hospitalized. We are waiting for the results,” she said.

There were 25 people on the bus, she said. The driver is among the injured.

According to Akylbek Mamanov, chief of the children's hospital, 18 people have been hospitalized, 4 of them are in intensive care. The rest are in regular wards.

According to eyewitnesses, a GoBus bus and a school bus collided on the road from Bishkek to Manas Airport.

According to the Traffic Police Department, the school bus was moving along Bishkek-Manas airport road in the direction to Bishkek. Near the store, the bus driver began to turn and at that moment another bus ran into the school bus from behind.
