The death toll in a fire at a flower warehouse in central Moscow has risen to seven, APA reports.

One more body was removed from the ruins.

The death toll in a fire at a flower warehouse in central Moscow has risen to six, emergencies services told TASS on Monday, APA reports.

"The fire at a warehouse on Komsomolskaya Square killed six people," an emergencies official said.

Earlier reports said five people were killed and another one injured.

The fire was reported at 3:13 pm Moscow time on Sunday. Seven people were evacuated from the warehouse. The flame partially destroyed floor structures between the building’s first and second floors on an area of 500 square meters. The fire was localized on an area of 2,500 square meters and was extinguished at 11:55 pm, after having raged for almost nine hours.

According to a preliminary version, a malfunctioning electric heater and a power shutdown could have caused the fire, the emergencies official said.

The death toll for the warehouse fire in central Moscow has risen to five, a spokesman for the Russian emergencies ministry’s Moscow city department told TASS on Sunday, APA reports citing TASS.

"Three dead bodies were found while clearing the debris," the spokesman said, adding that one more person is still missing.

The fire at the flower warehouse on Komsomolskaya Square was reported at 15:13 Moscow time. Seven people were evacuated from the building. The flame partially destroyed floor structures between the building’s first and second floors on an area of 500 square meters. The fire was localized on an area of 2,500 square meters.

It was not the first fire in this building Thus, on November 14, 2018, a fire consumed an area of 700 square meters. No one was hurt.
