Envoy: Russia to be impartial during UNSC presidency

First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy (pictured) said that Moscow will be an "honest broker" during its presidency in the UN Security Council, APA reports citing Teletrader.

"Any attempts to provoke us are doomed to fail in advance. Unlike our former Western partners, we play fair in the international arena and we do not promote 'double standards.'"

International law and rules of procedure that have been developed over decades are still in place in the UN, unlike the "rules-based order," which is the West's replacement for international law, according to the Russian diplomat.
