The death toll in the explosion at the "Surmalu" Shopping Center in Yerevan has reached 6, APA reports citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations f Armenia.

Another unidentified body was pulled out from under the rubble.

Two more people were killed in the explosion at the "Surmalu" Shopping Center in Yerevan, said Hayk Kostanyan, the press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, on Facebook, APA reports.

Thus, the number of people who died as a result of the incident reached 5.

Armenian MES added that 17 people are still considered missing.

A criminal case has been launched in connection with the incident.

One more person was killed in the explosion at the "Surmalu" Shopping Center in Yerevan, the press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia Hayk Kostanyan said, APA reports.

According to him, the body of a woman was removed from the rubble.

Thus, the number of people who died as a result of the incident reached 3.

According to the latest information, the number of injured is 61 people.

Blasts ripped through a fireworks warehouse in a shopping mall in Yerevan on Sunday, Russian news agencies reported, killing two people and injuring 60, APA reports.

Video footage showed thick grey smoke rising above a building, followed by an explosion that sent people running from the scene.

Armenia's health ministry said that the number of people injured had reached 60, of whom 22 had already been discharged. Two people died, the ministry said on Telegram.

Firefighters were struggling to contain the blaze as fireworks continued detonating, complicating the search and rescue operation, TASS cited the head of the ministry's rescue service as saying.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fireworks to detonate.

The number of victims of the explosion in the Yerevan shopping center has reached 51 people and 1 killed, APA reports.

Firefighting work is underway at four sites. Fourteen water carriers, eight trucks and three tractors of the Yerevan Municipality are involved in the work.
