Flights from Moscow to Baku, Istanbul and Yerevan are out of tickets on background of mobilization-UPDATED

Tickets for flights from Moscow to Baku, Istanbul, Yerevan, and other cities in neighboring countries have run out after the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia, APA reports citing Aviasales service.

According to Aviasales service, a ticket for the direct flight from Moscow to Baku could be bought not earlier than September 23, it costs 74.5 thousand rubles.

Azerbaijani Airways (according to information as of 12:00 a.m Moscow time on September 21) has tickets for September 22, which cost 719 euros. Tickets can be bought for 394 euros after September 24.

According to Aviasales service, a ticket for the direct flight from Moscow to Istanbul could be bought not earlier than September 23, it costs 76 thousand rubles. Tickets to Yerevan are available only on the 24th of September (62 thousand rubles).

Vladimir Putin today made a speech announcing that the conflict in Ukraine would be escalated, resulting in citizens attempting to leave the country, APA's correspondent in Russia reports.

In Putin's speech, he said there would be a partial mobilization of the military. Reservists and ex-military personnel with "certain military specialties and relevant experience" will be subject to conscription, he said.

Following this, according to the Russian online newspaper Lenta, flights to Armenia, Turkey and Georgia sold out.

"All tickets for direct flights to Istanbul and Yerevan were sold out in a few minutes after Putin's address," the publication's Twitter page wrote in a caption.
