“Russia, along with Türkiye, has done a lot for the settlement of the situation in Syria,” said President of Russia Vladimir Putin during the protocol part of his speech as he met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Sochi, APA’s Russian bureau reports.
“I know how much the Syria issue is fragile for Türkiye,” the Russian leader said as he talked about the benefits of the discussions held in Astana Platform with Ankara regarding the Syria settlement.
Putin noted that other countries of the region, the Libyan track, and many bilateral and international issues will be the focus of discussions with Erdogan.
“I want to thank you for accepting our invitation and arriving in Sochi,” the Russian President concluded.
