"The proposal of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to find alternative routes for oil transportation bypassing Russia is hardly politically motivated," said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commenting on a question about whether the decision of Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev to look for priority routes for oil supply by bypassing the Russian Federation is politically motivated.

"Unlikely, it is politically motivated, it should be carefully considered... Due to environmental parameters, a decision was made to stop oil transportation, therefore, of course, we will have additional contacts with our Kazakh partners," the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.

Notably, on July 6, a Russian court ordered the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) to suspend operations for 30 days. CPC carries oil from Kazakhstan into Russia and to the edge of the Black Sea.
