"Raising the issue of the unification of South Ossetia with Russia is a legal incident that still needs to be resolved," said Russian President's Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

"We said that the issue of" unification "was raised there, even the issue was formed. There is a kind of legal incident. In other words, Russia can not unite with anyone. Therefore, our colleagues must resolve it themselves," said a Kremlin spokesman.

Notably, the leadership of South Ossetia, a separatist region of Georgia, has announced its intention to join Russia.
