The Government of Ukraine supported the initiative of the Ministry of Reintegration of Uncontrolled Territories to impose sanctions on teachers who spread Russian standards of education in parts of Ukraine occupied by the Russian army, APA reports.

Restrictions are intended to be introduced against Russian universities, their leaders, and scientists who “propaganda Russia’s war against Ukraine.” The ministry also announced the imposition of sanctions against 99 individuals and 178 legal entities from Russia, it is noted that the new sanctions list was headed by “Putin’s daughters.”

“The Ministry of Reintegration initiated the application of sanctions for the distribution of educational standards of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories. Teachers and educational institutions that disseminated the educational standards of the Russian Federation and recognized educational qualifications awarded by higher education institutions of the Russian Federation are subject to special economic and other sanctions for five years, ”the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Reintegration said on Facebook (the social network is owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The sanctions list related to education standards will include 81 individuals and 53 legal entities. These sanctions are yet to be considered by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Sanctions imposed on 99 individuals and 178 legal entities have already been approved by the country’s government. The list of persons subject to restrictions under this package is not disclosed. However, the Ministry of Reintegration notes that it includes the daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin, officials of the national banks of Russia and Belarus, and enterprises of the military-industrial complex.

In June, it became known that Russian teachers would be sent as volunteers to work in the Donbas. The head of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, said that Donbas schools would switch to Russian educational standards from September.
