The West, a day after the Russian-Ukrainian meeting in Istanbul on March 29, banned Kyiv from continuing negotiations with Moscow, said Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister in an interview with “Radio and Television of the Republic Srpska” of the Bosnian-Serbian television and radio company, APA reports.

Russian senior diplomat responded to the question on the current stage of negotiations on Ukraine:

“Ukraine two months ago seemed to put forward a proposal on how to solve this issue. We have taken these proposals as a basis. So a day later (after the meeting of the delegations in Istanbul, the West forbade Ukrainians to continue this process."

The minister said that the position of the Ukrainian side has changed since then.

“They tightened their position, a provocation took place in Bucha, which was obviously staged. Three days after the Russian servicemen left the area. People lived there, the mayor drove around the streets. And only three days later the bodies were found there," Lavrov said.

According to him, the names of those killed in the Bucha, which were shown in the Western media and social networks, "no one presented to anyone or voiced information about what kind of injuries these people had that led to their death."
