Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Sunday debunked the rumors about his illness, allegedly spread by his political opponents, APA reports citing TASS.
The head of government warned the individuals behind the claims that any such statements against him will "backfire," as he promises to "live on." "They keep burying me, these fugitives," Lukashenko said, seemingly talking about oppositionists that left the country in 2020 after nationwide protests.
The news comes after Lukashenko on Saturday said it was time for the authorities in Belarus to take a step toward people who admitted to making a mistake by fleeing the country after the 2020 elections.
