Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova responded to Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russian Federation, APA reports citing the twitter post of Spokesperson of Moldovan MFA, Daniel Vodă.
"We reject the statements with regard to Moldova of the Russian FM Sergey Lavrov recently voiced during a TV interview.
It is clear that they are part of the already well-known threatening rhetoric of Russian diplomacy. Moldova MFA would like to remind the Russian side that the path that Moldova is taking is the path of joining the European Union. This is a choice supported by our citizens.
Moldovans regardless of political or geopolitical preferences want Peace, Freedom and Democracy. We will appreciate that all countries of the world, including Russia, respects this decision of our people.
Moldova has clearly chosen its future, and this future is part of the free world," said Daniel Vodă.
