Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that Russia's Gazprom is waiting for documents related to servicing the Nord Stream 1 turbine, in order to make sure that Siemens will not remotely switch it off, APA reports citing Teletrader.

"Gazprom, as the supplier and owner of this turbine, is simply obliged to obtain documents that this is an unauthorized product. We must be sure that it is unauthorized, and we must be sure that guided by the sanctions circulars, the British company, a subsidiary of Siemens, will not remotely turn off this turbine," Peskov said.

Earlier today, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that the turbine works and there is no reason to delay gas supply.
