Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the closer integration of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) "will allow the economies of these states to become stronger and more independent.", APA reports citing Teletrader.

Addressing the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Putin stated that it is obvious that "there is a growing interest in activities of the Eurasian Economic Union from many foreign partners" despite "the difficult international situation" and "the confrontation unleashed by the so-called collective West," who is trying to obstruct the process of integration.

The head of the Russian state underlined he is convinced that this move would "significantly reduce [EAEU's] dependence on external [influences], including the political situation."
