Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Monday that the enlargement of NATO is "artificial," accusing the alliance of going "beyond its geographic purpose.", APA reports citing Teletrader.

He added that Sweden's and Finland's accession to NATO does not pose an immediate threat to Russia but that Moscow will react if its security is jeopardized.

At a Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit in Moscow, Putin repeated his claim that neo-Nazism "has been rampant for a long time" in Ukraine and that "Nazi symbols [are] encouraged by the authorities." He also reiterated that the United States used Ukrainian laboratories to create "components of biological weapons," which has been denied by Washington.
