Russia and the United States are suspending cultural, scientific, and media cooperation, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova at a briefing today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
According to her, on June 1, the Russian Foreign Ministry notified the United States of the cancellation of the memorandum on cooperation in culture, science, education, and the media:
"Further preservation of this memorandum has simply lost its meaning. The relevant note was submitted to the US Embassy in Moscow on June 1," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
