Peacekeepers of Collective Security Treaty Organization will not be involved in military operations in Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Defence of Russia, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
“According to the agreement with Kazakhstan, CSTO collective peacekeepers are not involved in the operational and combat activities of local law enforcement agencies and military units to restore order in the country,” the information stresses.
It has been noted that CSTO peacekeepers, sent to Kazakhstan, implement tasks on the protection of vital objects, aerodromes, main infrastructure: “Units of collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan, have started to implement their tasks. Units of peacekeeping contingent implement tasks on protection of vital objects, aerodromes, main infrastructure.”
