Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced on Monday that Russia and Iran would gradually abandon the use of the dollar in bilateral relations, APA reports citing Tele Trader.

According to Moscow, both countries could soon reach a comprehensive cooperation agreement to boost their ties. These new steps are also an opportunity to minimize the effect of sanctions, Peskov added.

Besides, Peskov told Russia 24 that only for the first quarter of this year, trade volume between both countries increased by 31%, a figure that he described as "a positive trend."
