"The Russian Ministry of Defense has a plan of measures to ensure the security of the country against the background of the start of the process of joining Finland and Sweden to NATO, said the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov," APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
"Such options are not developed in the Kremlin, but in the Ministry of Defense. We have repeatedly stated that there are relevant plans and work is underway to ensure our security," says Kremlin.
Peskov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already assessed the joining of Finland and Sweden NATO.
It should be noted that NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that the ratification process of the protocols on the joining of Sweden and Finland to the alliance had already started.
