Russia's Liberal Democratic Party elected Zhirinovsky’s successor

Members of the LDPR elected the head of the international committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Leonid Slutsky, as chairman of the party, APA reports citing Sputnik.

The decision was made at the LDPR congress, it was announced by party deputy Yaroslav Nilov.

The previous leader of the party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, died on April 6 after a protracted illness. After the death of the politician, Slutsky temporarily took over as party leader and was elected head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma.
