Shoigu: “So far, 1908 fighters have laid down their weapons at the Azovstal plant”

“More than 1,900 Ukrainian militants have already surrendered at the besieged Azovstal plant in Mariupol,” said Russia’s Sergei Shoigu at the meeting of the Ministry, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

“Siege of Azovstal plant continues. Civilians detained by Ukrainian nationalists there were evacuated from the territory of the plant. 177 people, including 85 women and 47 children were rescued. Everyone was provided with medical and psychological assistance. The nationalists, who were under siege at the plant, began to surrender. 1908 fighters have laid down their weapons so far,” stressed Shoigu.
