British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who announced his resignation on July 7, is behind the shelling of peaceful Russian cities, the speaker of the State Duma of Russia Viacheslav Volodin said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

In Britain, about 50 people left the Cabinet of Ministers against the backdrop of a government crisis. After that, Johnson announced his resignation, but added that he would fulfill his obligations until the appointment of a new head of the Cabinet.

He is also convinced that Johnson is one of the main ideologists of the confrontation with Russia “to the last Ukrainian.” The speaker of the State Duma urged politicians in the West to think about the consequences of such steps.

Earlier, the heads of key UK departments, the Treasury and the Ministry of Health, said they did not trust Johnson and did not support his leadership methods.
