Vladimir Kalinichenko, a former investigator of particularly important cases under the USSR Prosecutor General, a third-class state judicial adviser who investigated the massacre organized by Armenians in Sumgait in 1988, died at age 75, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

Notably, Kalinichenko was sent to Azerbaijan by the Prosecutor General's Office of the USSR immediately after the events in Sumgait in February 1988.

Kalinichenko investigated the Sumgayit case as an investigator for particularly important cases under the USSR Prosecutor General.

Vladimir Kalinichenko issued the resolution on the arrest of Armenian Eduard Grigorian, one of the Sumgait events' participants and organizers.
