Azerbaijani violinist attends the International Violin Competition

Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Presidential Fellow Elvin Khoja Ganiyev participates in the Jascha Heifetz International Violin Competition which attended by 49 world-famous violinists, APA reports.

Two rounds of the Jascha Heifetz (the most famous Russian-born American violinist of the 20th century) International Violin Competition is being held online in connection with a new type of coronavirus pandemic.

Elvin Ganiyev, who serves the joint cultural policy of Azerbaijan and Turkey, passed the first round with the most votes (9349) and was among the top 17 people.

Note that the talented young musician Elvin, who is one of the most promising violinists in the world, is currently studying for a master's degree at the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany under the academic and artistic guidance of Professor Krzysztof Wegrzyn.

Elvin Ganiyev's dream is to give a concert in the homeland of his grandfather, a well-known violinist, and musicologist, the late Sarvar Ganiyev, originally from Shusha.

It should be noted that the second round of the International Violin Competition "Jascha Heifetz" will be held online on February 2, and the final will take place live on February 24-25 at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic in Vilnius, Jascha Heifetz’s birthplace.

The chairman of the jury of the competition is the world-famous violinist Gidon Kremer.

Ganiyev told APA that he was proud to perform in front of Gidon Kremer, an eminent figure in the world of music.

The Jascha Heifetz International Violin competition is being held from January 16 to February 25, 2021.
