Number of cultural institutions destroyed by Armenians in occupied territories announced

“As a result of Amenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan along with residential houses, educational, industrial and agricultural facilities located in the occupied territories, hundreds of cultural institutions, as well as 927 libraries with 4.6 million book have been destroyed,” said Maryam Gafarzadeh, head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Culture, at an event held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, APA reports.

According to her, 808 palaces of culture, club an culture, 85 music and art schools, 22 museums and branches of museums where more than 100 thousand exhibits collected, 4 art galleries, 4 theatre institutions, 2 concert institutions, 8 culture and recreation parks, more than 700 historical and cultural monuments registered until Karabakh conflict,were plundered.

M. Gafarzadeh noted that as well as Khudafarin bridges with 11 and 15 spans in Jabrayil region, Ganjasar and Khudavand temples in Kalbajar region, mausoleum in Khachin Turbatli village of Aghdam region, Azykh cave, one of the world's oldest settlements in Fuzuli region, Shusha State Historical and Architectural Reserve were victims of Armenian vandalism.
