On May 12, the official at the opening ceremony of Shusha 2023 - Cultural Capital of the Turkic World was held in Shusha city of Azerbaijan, jointly organized by the Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and TURKSOY, APA reports.
State officials, delegations of the International Organization of Turkish Culture - TURKSOY member countries, heads of Turkish Cooperation organizations and other guests attended the event.
Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev stressed that Shusha is homeland of Khurshidbanu Natavan, Najaf Bey Vazirov, Uzeyir Hajibeyli and many other artists: These lands are the cradle of art and music for us.
Sultan Raev said that the opening of TURKSOY's Korkut Ata Turkish World III film festival will be held in Shusha. He added that the closing ceremony of Shusha 2023 - Cultural Capital of the Turkic World is planned for November: "At the closing event, the baton of the "Cultural Capital of the Turkish World" for 2024 will be handed over to the city of Anev, Turkmenistan."
