The sculptural composition "Khamsa" has been evacuated from Kharkiv to Kyiv, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Elmira Akhundova told APA.

According to her, a year ago, on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the well-known sculptor, People's Artist of Ukraine Katib Mammadov began to create a sculptural composition "Khamsa" by Nizami Ganjavi.

"This magnificent statue was to be erected in the spring of this year in the Botanical Garden of Taras Shevchenko University in the center of Kyiv. But the war ruined all plans.

Thus, in the past few days, we have been able to transport this masterpiece from Kharkov, which is under heavy bombardment, to a safer place in Kiev. I thank the mayor of Kyiv, our friend Vitali Klitschko and the rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University Volodymyr Bugrov for their help.
