Minister of Culture Anar Karimov has spoken about the role of cultural heritage in national identity, collective mind of people, stressed importance of cultural heritage at National Urban Forum, APA reports.
A. Karimov has noted in his speech at the session on "Restoration of cultural and historical heritage during post-conflict" that international community adopted relevant documents, and conventions on the protection of cultural heritage.
Speaking about the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts, adopted in 1954, the Minister said that this Convention is important for conflict countries.
The minister said that the cultural heritage of the countries that are the most targeted during conflicts in different countries, it also applies to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
Anar Karimov noted that Azerbaijan has facts obtained through satellite images about how the Armenian side caused destruction in those territories during the occupation.
