Number of monuments, destructed by Armenians in the liberated territories, revealed

There were 706 historical and cultural monuments in Karabakh region of Azerbaijan before the First Karabakh War (1988-1994) and 11 of them were important at the international level (6 of them were architectural, 5 archeological), 240 at the state level (119 of them were architectural, 121 archeological), and 455 at the local level (393 of them were architectural, 22 archeological, 23 parks, and memorial monuments and 17 decorative artworks), it has been reflected in the "Report on Armenia's appropriation of Azerbaijan's historical and cultural heritage", APA reports.

22 museums, where more than 100,000 artifacts, 927 libraries consisting of 4,6 mln. books, 85 music schools, 4 theatres, 2 concert halls, 4 art galleries, and 808 resting places were destructed as a result of the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh, adjacent villages, as well as 7 villages of Gazakh, situated on the border with Armenia, and Karki village of Nakhchivan by Armenia.

According to recently-conducted calculations, about 400 monuments were destroyed in the territories, liberated from occupation, as a result of the Second Karabakh War.
