German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has slammed US plans to sanction Nord Stream-2, APA reports citing Sputnik.
"European energy policy is determined in Europe and not in the United States. We are rejecting any outside intervention and extraterritorial sanctions," the minister said in a statement published by the Foreign Ministry's press service.
The statement comes amid looming US sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 project, that were recently added to US 2020 National Defence Authorisation Act, which is up for approval before Christmas.
