Iranian citizen tried to traffic 2 kg of drugs through border

The operational and searching measures are continued by State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic in the area of ensuring of efficient defense of state border and fight against illegal trafficking of drugs, the State Border Service (SBS) told APA.

During implementation of border and customs inspection of Asadi Ramin Sedigh, the Iranian citizen born in 1991 officially arriving in Azerbaijan Republic from Islamic Republic of Iran on December 11 at “Astara” border control station, the “opium” narcotic substance with a total weight of 2 kg 137 g was detected in 25 bundles hidden inside parcels of sweets and in the bottom of a specially designed flower basket and was confiscated.

The operational and investigative measures regarding the detained person are being continued.
