Zuleykha Ismayilova living in Estonia has been elected co-chair of Greens party functioning in that country, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora told APA.

This occurred as a result of the changes made to statutes of the party at the congress held on September 12. Based on the changes, 2 co-chairs will lead the party. The environment protection issues have been assigned to our compatriot elected co-chair.

Remind that Zuleykha Ismayilova along with being a politician, is also an eco-activist, a photographer and a journalist. Previously, she functioned as a volunteer in the Estonian greens movement engaged in environment protection issues, from 2005, she went in for politics and entered the Social Democrats Party. In 2012, she left that party, and two years later, she preferred to become a member of Estonia Greens party.
