USA’s Columbia University hosts conference dedicated to Khojaly genocide

A conference was held on the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide at the famous Columbia University located in New York City, USA, State Committee on Work with Diaspora told APA.

Columbia University faculty and staff, diaspora representatives and activists living in New York and other states participated in the conference, which was open to the public.

First, the memories of the victims of the Khojaly genocide and the war, as well as those who died as a result of the devastating natural disaster in Turkiye were commemorated with a minute of silence.

Then a video film about Khojaly genocide was presented.

Professor Ali Asgarov of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and Michael Gunter, professor of political science at the Tennessee Institute of Technology, acted as speakers of the conference.
