Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev has introduced the new chairman of the country’s State Committee for Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov to the staff, the Committee told APA.
Ramiz Mehdiyev, who gave brief information about the new chairman, noted that President Ilham Aliyev has met with Fuad Muradov and gave him specific instructions.
He said the appointment of Fuad Muradov, who is a young and promising figure, is of great importance.
Later on, Mehdiyev spoke about the State Committee, criticizing its activity.
He expressed hope that Fuad Muradov will be able to resolve the faults allowed up to now.
Mehdiyev later told reporters that the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora has a number of tasks which the young chairman is due to deal with.
He noted that the president of Azerbaijan has been dissatisfied with the committee’s activity so far.
"The committee chairman failed to organize this work well. The funds allocated for events involving Azerbaijanis around the world have not yet reached their destination. The chairman was not able to exercise his powers. They held major events, but no concrete work has been done yet. Therefore, the country’s president has signed an order to dismiss the chairman,” he added.
Fuad Muradov is a graduate of Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and has previously worked as Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports. Muradov has been a postgraduate of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences since 2002.
