Azerbaijan’s MFA comments on incident occurred in Dagestan

The head of the Press service department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Leyla Abdullayeva has commented on the incident occurred on Russia-Azerbaijan border, APA reports.
L. Abdullayeva noted that Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan-Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev has commented on the incident taken place on Dagestan part of Azerbaijan-Russia border: “In this regard, we have repeatedly appealed to our citizens and have noted that the return to the country is implemented on the basis of registration, the elderly, sick people, women and other our citizens referred to the sensitive category make up the priority, the return to the country directly depends on the admission capacity of the quarantine facilities in our country. We have warned them that the gathering at the border crossing station is not a way out of the existing situation and we have insistently asked them to show understanding in the current conditions.
I would like to note that the mutual agreement reached at all levels between the two countries in regard to return of our citizens is being implemented and the bringing back to the country of our citizens is being continued in the framework of the coordination between the relevant state agencies. Today as well, the crossing of border into our country of another group of our citizens has been ensured through border crossing station.
We appeal to our citizens and call on them to show maximum understanding and to comply with legislation of the country of their current stay”.
