"Armenia with aggressive and annexation policy, military provocations, targeting civilians as well as violating international humanitarian law, who violates the ceasefire brutally in various direction of the front on daily basis, bears the direct responsibility for escalating the situation in the region has right to talk about neither obeying ceasefire nor avoiding provocative acts," said Leyla Abdullayeva, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

“We remind that the military provocation committed by the Armenian armed forces on July 12 of this year on the site of Azerbaijan’s Tovuz region of the international border of the two states was another preliminarily planned act of aggression. All responsibility for this attempt of use of force falls on Armenia’s political and military leaders.

The policy and the contradictory statements of the Armenian leaders aimed at deliberate violation of the format and essence of the negotiations process openly demonstrate that this country tries to strengthen the status-quo condition based on occupation. But we would like to emphasize that aggressive Armenia’s attempts to lay down any condition to negotiations and to change the format of negotiations are inadmissible.

We underline once again that the existing status-quo situation on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is inadmissible because it poses a serious threat to regional peace and security. In order to change status-quo based on occupation, the Armenian troops should be withdrawn from all occupied territories of Azerbaijan according to requirements of relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council”, the MFA official stressed.
