Martyrs have been commemorated with a minute of silence in the whole territory of Azerbaijan at 12:00 p.m. on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of January 20 Tragedy, APA reports.
Ships, cars, and trains sounded sirens in this regard.
Note that on the night from January 19 to 20, 1990, illegal deployment of troop units of the USSR to Baku, civilian people were shot using heavy weapons and guns of different types and massively killed. As a result, 131 people were killed, 744 injured in Baku and surrounding regions, 841 people were illegally arrested
