Azerbaijani MP: “Armenia wants to distract attention from internal confrontation by committing provocation on border with Azerbaijan”
- 13 July 2020
“The provocations committed by Armenia on the border with Azerbaijan in the direction of Tovuz bear a purposeful character. We are face-to-face with the offensive enemy. Armenia wants both to involve the Collective Security Treaty Organization into this conflict and to distract attention from the internal confrontation by committing this provocation on the border with Azerbaijan”, said Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of the United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (UAPFP), deputy chairman of State building and legal policy committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament in his statement to the party’s press service, APA reports.
G. Hasanguliyev said as Pashinyan rapidly loses his support among the people, he may sanction this provocation: “This provocation may also be an operation of reconnaissance nature for checking the combat capability of our Army before staring large-scale battles. But irrespective of who and for which purpose committed this provocation, the Azerbaijani Army should respond to this provocation with a more terrible blow in the upcoming days. I hope the Azerbaijani government understands that the time has come for making serious decisions for liberating our lands from the occupation”.
The deputy expressed his condolences to members of the martyrs’ families and the Azerbaijani people and wished recovery to the wounded soldiers.
