Azerbaijani MPs give standing ovation to health workers, law enforcement officers and military personnel

"President Ilham Aliyev has taken the next humanitarian step. According to the Order, signed by the head of state, 176 prisoners over 65 have been pardoned” Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said at a plenary meeting of Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) held today, APA reports.

S. Gafarova noted the step, which was highly appreciated by Azerbaijan’s and the world community, shows that care for a human is standing at the center of Azerbaijan’s policy: “All works done in the framework of the fight against coronavirus is at the focus of attention of the head of state. A few days ago President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of an institution, producing medical masks. President Ilham Aliyev allocated nearly AZN 2 mln. for the establishment of 6 hospitals of modular type. Necessary measures are being taken in order to prevent an economic crisis. Condition is created for small and medium entrepreneurs. Families with low income are provided with assistance. I express my gratitude to the President on behalf of Milli Majlis. Healthy workers, law enforcement, and military personnel show dedication. I ask you to applaud them on foot.”

Then they give a standing ovation to health workers, law enforcement officers, and military personnel.
