Azerbaijani Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva released an appeal regarding one of the martyred Azerbaijani servicemen and the wounding of another soldier in Khojavand, Office of the Ombudsman told APA.

According to the appeal, on December 27, 2020, an illegal Armenian armed group or a detachment of six remnants of the Armenian armed forces that remained in that territory attacked the units of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of Aghdam village of Khojavend district, as a result of which one of our military servicemen was killed and another was wounded: "We consider this incident posing a serious threat to human rights, as another gross violation of the norms and principles of international law, international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions, and strongly condemn it. At the same time, we call on the Armenian side to respect the Joint Statement of 10 November 2020, signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation and to refrain from such illegal actions violating human rights."
