“Azerbaijan is the first country in South Caucasus which started vaccination against coronavirus,” said Prime Minister Ali Asadov at the meeting of Milli Majlis held today, APA reports.
The Prime Minister said that he hopes starting of vaccination process will play a role in decreasing the disease: “During the reporting year minimizing the impact of COVID-19 pandemic to the country’s economy, as well as to health and social-economic the situation of the population was kept on the center of attention. As a result of the government’s measures against pandemic and deterioration of the external environment in 2020, macroeconomic stability was maintained. Despite the significant deterioration of international conjunctura, the country’s strategic foreign exchange reserves did not decrease, on the contrary, increased by 0,2% (USD 99,2 mln) to stand at USD 51,2 bln. (taking into account the funds in the treasury account of the Ministry of Finance in foreign currency) exceeded the GDP. Last year all social payments were carried out on time and full.”
