"There were 276 female candidates in the parliamentary elections," said Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) today at a press conference following a snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

The CEC Chairman said that all female candidates are women distinguished in society: "1038 male candidates participated. If you approach the issue from a quality perspective, all of the female candidates were persons who had reasonable grounds to be represented in the Milli Majlis. Not about all men these words can be said. This ratio in the previous elections was 5-6% higher. Another indicator that meets modern requirements is related to the age of the candidates. Most youth candidates received education abroad. We want such candidates to serve Azerbaijan."
