“Conduction of promotion in social media has not been considered in the Election Code. However all of our lives have been organized on the social media currently. If we ban it, we will not be understood in the world”, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said at the meeting held today, APA reports.
According to M. Panahov, the CEC has a right to adopt a decision and stop promotion in social media before pre-election promotion process, in accordance with Election Code: “As there are other positions and these positions should be realized in social media in reality, we do not ban it. If we ban it, we will not be understood in the world, we think it is better. We have not received any appeal in this regard so far. It is necessary to use all provided opportunities. However candidates should follow requirements of legislation in promotion issues.”
