“One of the most important features of the Azerbaijani government that manifested itself in the fight against the pandemic is the great humanism which can be clearly seen in the policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev”, said Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Ahmadov, APA reports.

He said under the current conditions, the people’s health is being protected and the blow dealt with the economy by the pandemic is being eliminated: “As our President noted, in connection with the policy carried out by us, if there is a need to make choice between to protect health our people and elimination of the damage caused by the pandemic to the economy, the important for us is the health of the people. Namely, as a result of this, the fight conducted against the pandemic in Azerbaijan has given more positive results.”

A. Ahmadov noted that today the number of pandemic cases in the world is more than 7 million, and the number of its victims is more than 400,000: “The number of pandemic victims per 1 million people in the world is about 440. In Azerbaijan, this figure is less than 5 times the world average. This positive result is an expression of the policy pursued by our President to protect the health of the population.
