No special decision was made in connection with the winter holidays in Azerbaijan, Ministry says

Last year, according to the relevant decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers, from October 19 to November 2, vacations were announced in all educational institutions of the country. During this period, the activities of preschool, out-of-school, and additional education institutions operating in the country were also completely suspended. For this reason, information has spread about the cancellation of winter holidays in schools, in response to APA's request, the Ministry of Education said.

That the length of the academic year (including the time and duration of vacations) in educational institutions is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers. No special decision has been made about the winter holidays.

Note, according to the order of the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev on the basic curricula for the 2020-2021 academic year, winter holidays fall on January 27-31. The first half of the year covers the period from September 15 to January 26, the second half of the year - from February 1 to June 14.
