Sahiba Gafarova hold phone conversation with Valentina Matviyenko

On October 12, a phone conversation was held between the Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova and Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the department of press and public relations of Milli Majlis told APA.

Sahiba Gafarova informed Valentina Matviyenko about the latest tension in the region, especially purposefully targeting of Azerbaijani civilians and infrastructure by Armenia.

It has been noted that Ganja, second largest city of Azerbaijan was subjected to rocket strikes by the Armenian armed forces on October 11 and as a result of the strike 10 civilians were killed, as well as more than 30 civilians, including children, were injured. These strikes of Armenia have been stressed to be a war crime, and mean gross violation of international law, as well as requirements of 1949 Geneva Convention.
