Snap parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan today

Today the snap elections to the Parliament will be held in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The parliamentary elections will cover 125 constituencies, and a total of 5,573 polling stations.
Some 2,431 persons have applied for participation in the snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for February 9, 2020, and the candidatures of 1,637 applicants have been registered. Some 321 persons whose parliamentary candidatures were registered have withdrawn their candidatures, and the CEC has terminated the parliamentary candidatures of two persons.
Some 1314 candidates will struggle for the mandates of 125 members of the Azerbaijani Parliament. Some 79 percent of parliamentary candidates are males, and 21 percent are females. The representatives of 19 political parties have been registered as candidates in the elections.
The web-cameras have been installed in a total of 1,000 voting stations (18% of all voting stations).
A total of 5 million 329 thousand 460 voters will use their voting rights at the election.
Some 5,387,600 voting ballots have been printed for the election.
Some 77,790 local and 883 international observers have passed accreditation for observation of the parliamentary elections.
